MARTAPURA — South Kalimantan Governor H. Muhidin distributed cash assistance of IDR 200,000 per household to flood-affected residents in Banjar Regency. The total aid distributed reached approximately IDR 8.6 billion and came from personal funds, not from the local government budget.
“This is personal assistance, not from local government funds,” said Muhidin, Saturday (January 10, 2026).
Muhidin explained that the assistance was a form of personal concern for the community affected by the flood disaster. He hoped the cash assistance would help residents meet urgent needs, especially in the post-flood period.
The floods that hit Banjar Regency affected 121 villages and sub-districts. According to preliminary data, 43,469 families, or approximately 122,353 people, were affected by the disaster.
The South Kalimantan Provincial Government, said Muhidin, continues to coordinate with district governments and related agencies to ensure that flood management and aid distribution to the community run smoothly. a8
