BANJARBARU – Muhammad Alwi’s profile attracted attention at the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorwil) of the South Kalimantan Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), held at the Grand Maya Hotel in Banjarbaru on Tuesday (July 7, 2026). The son of the Barito Kuala Regent received direct appreciation from PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep for his work and contributions as a representative of the younger generation.
At a relatively young age, Muhammad Alwi is considered to have demonstrated a track record of leadership in various fields. In addition to his achievements as an esports athlete, he is also active in leading several organizations in Barito Kuala Regency and has been entrusted with the leadership of several companies.
On the occasion, Alwi expressed optimism for PSI’s future in Barito Kuala Regency. He targeted his party to win at least five seats in the Barito Kuala Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) in the upcoming election.
“The target of five seats is not impossible. With real work, strong organizational consolidation, and cadres who are present and working within the community, we are optimistic that this target can be achieved,” he said.
As a first step towards achieving this target, Alwi is now focusing on strengthening the party’s organizational structure down to the grassroots level. He is currently forming the PSI Branch Leadership Council (DPRt), which is targeted to be formed throughout Barito Kuala Regency.
According to him, the leadership will be formed in all 195 villages and six sub-districts as a foundation for strengthening the party’s machinery ahead of the election.
“We want to ensure that PSI has an active and solid structure in every village and sub-district. This way, communication with the community will be closer and the aspirations of the residents can be optimally championed,” he said.
Alwi emphasized that strengthening the organization at the village and sub-district levels is a crucial strategy for building public trust and increasing the party’s electability.
Through continued consolidation and the involvement of cadres in various community activities, he is optimistic that PSI Barito Kuala can become a political force to be reckoned with in the upcoming election.
