JAKARTA – Dadang Rachmat has been elected Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Convergence Media Association (AMKI) for the 2025–2030 term following an Extraordinary Members’ Meeting (RALB) held in Jakarta.
The meeting took place at Graha Cartic in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Wednesday evening (August 19, 2026).
Dadang succeeds Tundra Meliala, who resigned as chairman on August 9, 2026.
Prior to his election, Dadang served as Secretary-General of AMKI’s Central Board and was also one of the organization’s founders.
The extraordinary meeting was attended by 23 of the 31 board members entitled to vote, either in person or via an online connection. The remaining eight members did not attend.
Representatives of AMKI’s Jakarta and West Java provincial boards attended the meeting as observers.
RALB organizing committee chairman Simon Leo Siahaan said the meeting was conducted in accordance with the organization’s rules and met the required quorum.
“The meeting’s agenda included the election of the session chair, approval of the rules of procedure, the chairman’s resignation, the presentation of the organization’s accountability and financial reports, and the election of a new chairman,” Simon said.
RALB Confirms New Leadership
Retired Air Marshal Dede Rusamsi, Chairman of the AMKI Central Board Supervisory Council, chaired the meeting after being appointed by the participants.
Carrel Ticualu was appointed deputy session chair, while Simon Leo Siahaan served as meeting secretary.
During the meeting, Tundra Meliala presented the organization’s accountability report and financial report for the previous administration. He also formally reiterated his resignation as chairman.
Following the completion of the agenda, participants nominated Dadang Rachmat as a candidate for chairman.
Dadang was subsequently elected and formally appointed Chairman of the AMKI Central Board for the remainder of the 2025–2030 term.
Dede Rusamsi symbolically handed over the AMKI organizational banner to Dadang, marking the formal transfer of leadership.
“Hopefully, Mr. Dadang Rachmat’s leadership will make AMKI even better,” Dede said.
He emphasized that Dadang’s appointment was the result of the extraordinary meeting following Tundra Meliala’s resignation.
Dadang Calls for Support from Members
After receiving the mandate, Dadang called for the support of all members and board officials in running the organization during his tenure.
He also pledged to continue several programs that had not yet been implemented under the previous administration.
“I ask for the help and support of all colleagues so that I can lead this organization even better,” Dadang said.
He encouraged members to provide suggestions and constructive input to strengthen AMKI and increase the organization’s benefits for its members.
“I welcome your ideas and suggestions for the advancement of AMKI. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me,” he said.
Dadang currently also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Mitrapol.
Under the new leadership structure, Dadang appointed Simon Leo Siahaan as Secretary-General of the AMKI Central Board, while Umi Sjarifah retained her position as Treasurer.
Participants expressed hope that Dadang’s leadership would strengthen AMKI’s internal solidarity and encourage the organization to pursue a more progressive agenda.
They also called on the new leadership to prioritize concrete action, consistency, accountability, and transparency in managing the organization.
The participants further expected AMKI’s programs to deliver tangible benefits to its members while strengthening the organization’s role amid rapid changes in the media industry.
The extraordinary meeting was also attended by AMKI Central Board advisers Heru Riyadi and Berman Nainggolan L. Radja, along with several heads of AMKI’s central divisions.
With the conclusion of the RALB, Dadang Rachmat officially takes over as Chairman of the AMKI Central Board for the 2025–2030 term.
