This history spans from the writers’ communities of William Shakespeare’s era in the 16th century to the writers’ associations in the United States and Europe that have endured for over a century.
In Indonesia, the lineage runs from the writers’ communities of the *Gelanggang* era (Chairil Anwar), *Lekra* (Pramoedya Ananta Toer), and *Manikebu*, leading up to the establishment of *Satupena*.
