The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantras) of the South Kalimantan Regional Police held a roll call for “Online Motorcycle Taxi Friends” (Police Traffic Police) in support of Operation Safety Intan 2026 on Thursday (February 12, 2026). The event took place in the Traffic Directorate Hall of the South Kalimantan Regional Police and involved hundreds of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers.
At the roll call, Senior Commissioner M. Fahri Anggia Natua Siregar led the roll call, which was attended by all senior officers from the Traffic Directorate.
Senior Commissioner Fahri stated that the number of online motorcycle taxi drivers in South Kalimantan is quite large, reaching more than 10,000 drivers of both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. He believes this potential is strategic for building a culture of orderly traffic.
“These online motorcycle taxi drivers are on the roads every day. They play a vital role in transportation and support the community’s economy. Therefore, we want to build good communication so they can become pioneers in traffic safety,” he explained.
He further explained that this activity was not just a roll call, but also included a friendly gathering, a recitation of the pledge as friends of the Traffic Police, and driving safety training. The training encompassed theory and practical training, including the importance of predicting risks before driving.
“We hope that online motorcycle taxi (ojek) drivers can participate in campaigning for traffic safety to the public and set an example for orderly driving,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dani, the Landasan Ulin Grab Partner Coordinator, expressed his appreciation for the South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate’s initiative to involve online motorcycle taxi (ojek) drivers in the traffic safety program.
“We are very grateful for the support of the Traffic Police. Activities like this are very positive because they remind fellow drivers to always be orderly and set an example for the community in traffic,” he said.
He hopes similar activities can continue to be held regularly to increase road safety awareness among online motorcycle taxi drivers.
