BANJARMASIN – The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the South Kalimantan Regional Police has begun implementing the KARIB Traffic Police Program as a follow-up to the vision and mission of the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Wibowo. This program serves as a guideline for all traffic police officers in providing more humane, professional, and technology-based services.
The Director of Traffic for the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Fahri Anggia Natua Siregar, explained that KARIB not only reflects the police’s close relationship with the community, but also stands for Partnership, Active, Responsive, Intuitive, and Integrity.
“Partnership means the Traffic Police are able to build cooperation with all stakeholders. Active means being directly present in the community, Responsive in handling every traffic issue, Intuitive in understanding the community’s needs, and Integrity in providing professional and trustworthy services,” said Fahri in Banjarmasin, Wednesday (July 15, 2026).
As part of the program’s implementation, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas Polda Kalsel) is strengthening field services by involving personnel in the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) at several schools and new student orientation at various universities.
In these activities, personnel not only regulate traffic flow, guard, and patrol, but also provide education on traffic safety to school and university students. This effort aims to instill a culture of orderly traffic from an early age and raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of road safety.
“Through this education, we want to build a culture of orderly traffic from an early age, so that school and university students have a good understanding of road safety,” said Fahri.
In addition to strengthening the presence of personnel in the field, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate is also continuing to promote digital transformation in public services. Various technology-based innovations are being developed to facilitate public access to police services, while simultaneously improving the effectiveness, transparency, and quality of service.
Through the implementation of the Polantas KARIB Program, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate hopes to continue to increase public trust in the National Police. On the other hand, the program is also expected to support the realization of better security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow throughout South Kalimantan.
