BANJARBARU– The 2025 Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI) Jamboree for South Kalimantan Province has officially opened and immediately attracted thousands of automotive enthusiasts from various regions.
The event, which took place on December 12–14, 2025, served as a platform for consolidating the Banua automotive community and strengthening motorsports development.
The opening ceremony of the jamboree took place in the courtyard of the Babussalam Sports Hall (GOR) in Banjarbaru, Saturday (12/13/2025), and was officiated by the Assistant for Economic and Development of the South Kalimantan Provincial Secretariat, Ariadi Noor, representing the Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Muhidin.
In his remarks, Ariadi Noor expressed the Governor of South Kalimantan’s appreciation for the inaugural IMI South Kalimantan jamboree, which he considered a successful integration of motorsports, road safety education, tourism, and strengthening the creative economy.
“This jamboree is not just a gathering of automotive communities, but a space to build sportsmanship, solidarity, and a sustainable driving safety culture,” he said.
Ariadi emphasized that IMI plays a strategic role in promoting regional automotive progress, both in terms of motorsport achievements and contributions to traffic order and safety.
“Pemprov Kalsel mengapresiasi IMI yang konsisten menghadirkan kegiatan positif, memberi ruang kreatif bagi generasi muda, sekaligus mencetak potensi atlet balap yang kompetitif,” katanya.
Ia juga menekankan pentingnya kampanye safety riding yang harus terus digaungkan oleh seluruh komunitas otomotif di Kalimantan Selatan.
“Jalan raya adalah ruang publik yang harus dijaga bersama dengan sikap tertib, santun, dan penuh tanggung jawab,” tegasnya.
Lebih lanjut, Ariadi menyebut Jambore IMI Kalsel sebagai pintu masuk pengembangan sport tourism di Banua. Event otomotif dinilai memiliki daya tarik besar jika dikolaborasikan dengan potensi wisata daerah.
“Kami berharap IMI Kalsel ke depan mampu menyelenggarakan event otomotif bertaraf nasional hingga internasional, terlebih Kalimantan Selatan kini memiliki UNESCO Global Geopark Meratus,” ungkapnya.
Sementara itu, Ketua IMI Kalsel, Edy Sudarmaji, menyebut jambore ini sebagai langkah awal menyatukan seluruh komunitas otomotif tanpa sekat.
“This is the first jamboree. We are opening up as much space as possible for all motorcycle and car communities in South Kalimantan to strengthen ties, advance the automotive industry, and provide tangible benefits to the community,” he said.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, H. Nur Rahman, appreciated the high enthusiasm of the participants at this inaugural jamboree.
“Almost all motorcycle and car clubs from regencies and cities across South Kalimantan participated. We hope that in the future, this jamboree can grow into a national event,” he said.
The opening of the 2025 South Kalimantan IMI Jamboree was marked by the launch of a motorcycle and car parade, attended by automotive communities from all regencies and cities in South Kalimantan.
The event was also attended by the South Kalimantan IMI management, Nazta Oktavian, a representative from the Central IMI, and representatives from the South Kalimantan Regional Police.
The 2025 South Kalimantan IMI Jamboree series is filled with various agendas, such as slalom, drift, freestyle trail, IMI Award 2025, automotive show, mini 4WD, moto camp, UMKM Expo, blood donation, zumba party, and social activities.
The opening momentum was also accompanied by the laying of the first stone for the construction of the IMI South Kalimantan office building in the Babussalam Banjarbaru GOR area, the land for which was a grant from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government.
